Your car rental comes with a puncture repair kit. However, in the case of a puncture that cannot be repaired, we'll need to call a tow truck.
If you have a spare tire, we can repair it on the spot no matter where you are in Japan. For this reason, we ask that you keep one tire in your car at all times. Especially in winter, the roads are very slippery, so please change to winter tires as soon as necessary.
When one of our customers had a flat tire in another prefecture, we were unable to respond immediately because the customer's car did not have a spare tire. Therefore, we asked the customer to take a taxi to a nearby hotel, and the car was towed the next day. The customer took a taxi to the car dealership the next day to pick up the car.
ST Rental is a small business, and as such, we may not always be able to reply right away. We will respond to trouble as quickly as possible. In the case of a flat tire, keys missing or locked in the car, or similar car issues, contact ST Rental first, and if we do not answer right away, please contact the Japan Automobile Federation at 0570-00-8139. They may be a little slow in responding in English, but they will help you. In case of a traffic accident, please contact the police on 110 first.
